Objective
While not yet an official company, I've received permission to showcase my work on the logo design. This project marks my second professional logo design endeavor, aimed at representing a game studio named Jagrock. With the name already chosen, my task was to semantically craft a logo that embodied the essence of the name while adhering to the client's specific guidelines.

The Many Version Of The Jagrock Logo
Throughout the iterative process, I explored multiple concepts. The original font transformed, evolving from a rock impacting the logo to a standalone representation of the rock itself. The essence of Jagrock! inspired the idea of a warning—conveying, "watch out!" Initially, exclamation marks were used to evoke urgency. However, after careful consideration, we opted for a shadow effect to imply motion, with the exclamation marks serving as a subtle accent. Jagrock is a playful name, and the exclamation marks enhance its dynamic imagery.
Striking a Balance Across Light and Dark Backgrounds
Ensuring the logo's adaptability across dark and light backgrounds was a top priority. By meticulously selecting monochromatic colors, we guarantee its seamless integration, maintaining visibility and impact across all surfaces.
Using AI Art to Ensuring Logo Adaptability
I utilized MidJourney Image Generation for this project to simulate potential game cover art. By exploring a variety of artistic styles across different game genres, I ensured the logo's versatility and adaptability to diverse backdrops. This process confirmed that the final design would be cohesive and flexible. Drawing inspiration from industry giants like Bethesda, EA, and Activision, I aimed to create a modern logo with a unique flair while adhering to gaming industry standards.
Takeaway
In my role, I have gained valuable experience in conducting UX research, UI design, and understanding the needs of customers, particularly the older generation. I have learned that each customer base is unique and requires tailored approaches. Understanding the customer is paramount in design. I have also learned that designing great things takes time and a thoughtful approach.
